OVERHEAD TRANSMISSION LINE

LGCE overhead lines are used for the transmission of energy along transmission poles.
The overhead line are available in different uqlalities and types, some of the decribed undeerneath.

ACSR (Aluminum Cable Steel Reinforced)

ACSR is one of the main choices for overhead power transmission lines with steel towers. ACSR is made by stranding lightweight aluminum wire around a core zinc coated steel cable with high tensile strength. Currently, ACSR/AW, which uses aluminum-coated steel wires, is commonnly used instead of zinc coated steel wires. Alumium-coated steel wires reduce internal corrosion

HCC (High Capacity Cable)

HCC is used when power transmission needs to be increased compared to the capacity of ACSR. Examples of HCC include Hi-STACIR/AW, Hi-TACSR/AW, and TACSR/AW. Particularly, while the weight of Hi-STACIR/AW is similar to ACSR, the allowable current for Hi-STACIR/AW is doubled.
