The province Drenthe and the local authority of Assen have cooperated in the development of the Sensor City project. Sensor City is an ambitious ambitieus project in which an extensive metropolitan measurement network will be realized .

This network will be used for development of different, practical applications of complex sensor systems. As showcase for the application of sensor systems this network is unique in the world.

A. Hak Telecom has been awarded the contract for the design, engineering and installation of the necessary passive fiber optic infrastructure. The network will be installed in different stages and the first stage has been finished end of 2011.

LGCE’s role includes assistance during engineering of the network structure, design of project specific materials and  the delivery of the products. For example LGCE designed customized customer connections boxes and a new 4 fiber direct burial cable design for this particular Fiber Optic network.
